Today is Sunday, Sunday afternoon in fact and this morning Lynn and I kicked up our heels and drove down the hill to Maloolooba Beach to soak up the sun for a few hours and of course to practice responsible social separation. Which wasn't all that difficult because there weren't all the many people around. There were of course the usual hoons (some obviously middle aged) chucking circles/zigzags in the bay (is that what you do?) on their extremely noisy and invasive jet skis...the equivalent of wheelies/burnouts in souped up hotrods?
However the real underlying mission in this trip was to discover whether or not Gelatissimo on The Esplanade was open…and it was. Heaven. Two small espresso gelatos, one in a cone and one in a cup. $$$$ ...are the prices now influenced by Covid-19 and here to stay? However it must be 5 weeks since we had a fix and costs were no longer an issue.
So home again checking emails for posts from our orange cohort…and good news. Several more new faces, some after some problems but with perseverance a success.
Hope that this will continue because the more people are contributing the more interesting things will become.
In future posts I could regale you all with my attempt at getting our 3rd vegy plot going. Much about attack with crowbar and other garden implements to release some soft soil below a driveway of some 50 years standing (a bit of a challenge to John’s tales of garden derring-do?) or I could go on about my pottery success/disasters etc. But that is for another post, but these snippets may entice something further from one or some of you.
Oh yes one final bit from me. Lynn and I both signed up for the Covidsafe app (a couple of the 4 million or so signups so far) and so next time we meet one of you hopefully we will be bumping more than elbows…or is that how it works?
