Ages since we last met although occasionally we do bump into one or other of you. Lynn and I trust you are all well and are all keeping out of harm’s way.
We were chatting the other day, as you do and wondering/ speculating on the future of the Gardens, of course as you do, and how we and of course all the other orange people were missing our Tuesday get togethers and of course the weekly exchanges of information/gossip etc. Janet’s cakes and Deb’s cookies too.
Missing this, yes and wondering how to catchup and stay in contact. It could be a while before our next gathering.
So floating the idea of a Chat possibility. Inviting the usual 40 or so Tuesday people to well, communicate…
First of all communicate…well that could be births, deaths and marriages? not the second one I would hope. Then what have you been doing? Parties? no, picnics? probably no, Garden nurturing and Bunnings visits for supplies? yes? good books perused and read…videos etc etc etc etc ? oh yes recipes?
So here is your invitation to communicate if you are so inclined. Not compulsory by any means but it would be fun to stay in touch and so first off the rank here is Lynn and Everard’ s contribution, sort of as a priming of the pump as it were....
So from Townsend Road...
After two days of climbing up and down ladders Lynn said we were entitled to feel a bit bushed. So why the ladders bit? Well washing the side of the house where we removed a tree, up and down the ladders trimming other trees, up and down cleaning out gutters...because of the trees etc etc. So that was today and yesterday.
And all the days before that...after that last Tuesday when we all met at the Gardens? How did we keep occupied?
A wedding, our daughter’s without us in attendance, what with all that social separation thing, lots of books ( fortunately we stocked up at our local library before the shutters came down) dvds too. Then there is the Birdwing Butterfly project thing...still going on but at a snails pace. Lynn and Deb colluding on the Davidson Plum leaf sculpture ( looking forward to a successful outcome). And of course gardening! Lots of plants to nurture in our garden and of course grass cutting (there is a downside to most things)...and of course communicating with our far flung family, daughters residing in Brisbane and in Sydney.
And of course cooking up a storm, trying out lots of new recipes and furthering experimentation with sourdough bakery (not all that successful I must say, the sourdough stuff I mean)
So the above takes up some of our time...notwithstanding that we are also lining up with all the oldies to take advantage of the 7 o,clock opening at Mr Coles’ shop and partaking in the Giant Quest For The Elusive Toilet Roll, plundering the shelves at Bunnings (keep missing out on the herbs and veggies though) etc etc...I could go on for hours, but...now it is somebody else’s turn...
So please let us all know what you are up to, keeping out of mischief? And so pass the baton on to the next person...regards Lynn and Everard
